"Just 20 minutes"

As mentioned in many hadith and in the Quran itself, the importance of reciting is made clear on a number of occassions. Thats why every week day there are Tajweed classes that take place for brothers after Isha prayer for 'Just 20mins'. Short & sharp. The Classes are lead by Maulana Abdul Hameed.  If this time is difficult for you then you can speak the Maulana himself and try to arrange a convenient time.

The pronouncing of the arabic text is so important that Allah himself says: "And recite the Qur'an with Tarteel (in a slow pleasant tone and style)." (73:4)

The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has said, 'Indeed Allah desires that the Qur'an be recited in the manner it was revealed.'

When asked about the meaning of Tarteel, Ali (Radhiallaahu Anhu) replied, 'It means that the Qur'an should be recited with Tajweed and with due observance to the rules of Waqf (pausing or stopping at the end of the verse).'

These Classes will not only benefit you and your hereafter, but you can also then support your children in the correct reading of the Qaida & Quran (the Book of Allah).

'Saqlain Mushtaq puts a top-spin on remembering Allah'

Ex-Pakistan Cricket player, now training consultant to the New Zealand Cricket Team came to the Madina Masjid over Christmas holidays to give a presentation on some of his experiences on his road to giving dawah.

He touched upon how important it is to remember Allah by simply looking around at the creation of Allah and mere reflection is powerful in itself to remind us of the supreme Creator. He reminded the audience how the rat-race of this world in running to gain possessions has diverted us from the real goal of remembering Allah and striving for his Love.
